The mission of the Northville Public Schools, a district committed to excellence, is to ensure all students demonstrate the skills, knowledge and attitudes to achieve personal success and to become responsible citizens through a partnership of staff and community in a caring, challenging environment.

Northville Public Schools serves students from the City of Northville and Northville Township, as well as from Novi and the townships of Salem and South Lyon. There is an average student-teacher ratio of 18:1. There are almost 5,000 students in the Northville School District. Another 200 physically and mentally challenged students are enrolled in two special education centers.

In addition to its K - 12 programming, pre-school classes and before-and after-school programs are offered at the district's Early Childhood Center.
The district's Business/Education Partnership program exposes teachers and students to the world of business and industry. Through presentations by area business leaders, tours of work places, internships and joint community projects, the program helps prepare area youth for productive careers after graduation.

football.jpgMany state and national organizations have cited Northville's schools for academic excellence. The district's elementary schools were named Centers of Excellence by the National Council of Teachers of English, and its middle schools were designated Exemplary Programs by the Michigan Department of Education. Northville High, which is accredited by the Northville Central Association, was named a Michigan Department of Education Exemplary School.

Northville students score above average on the Michigan Education Assessment Program tests in reading, math and science. The respect for education fostered among students is reflected in the decision by more than 95 percent of Northville High graduates to continue their studies at a college or university.

Northville's high school graduates don't have far to go to attend some of the nation's finest colleges and universities. Oakland University in Rochester, Wayne State University in Detroit, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Madonna University, Schoolcraft College, and Lawrence Technological University are all within commuting distance.
