DESCRIPTION:Military Banner ONLINE Application for May 2024 Installment\n\nApplication Deadline: April 1\, 2024\n\n\n\nThe Northville Chamber of Commerce presents:\n\nMILITARY AND VETERAN BANNER PROGRAM\n\nRecognizing and honoring brave individuals who are serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces. \n\n\n\nThe Program: \n\nNORTHVILLE MILITARY AND VETERAN BANNER PROGRAM\n\nThe Northville Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Military and Veteran Banner program that recognizes and honors those brave individuals who are serving or who have served in the United State Armed Forces. Banners will display a photo of the service person\, as well as their name\, dates of service and branch of the United States Armed Forces. The banner will be hung in downtown Northville during the months of May and November\, to celebrate Memorial Day and Veterans Day\, respectively.\n\n\n\nBANNER PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS\n\nTo qualify for the military and Veteran Banner Program\, the following criteria must be met: The honoree is an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces\, or the honoree was an honorably discharged member of the United States Armed Forces. The honoree must also have a connection with the Northville community.\n\n\n\nAbout the Banner: \n\nBANNER STYLE AND DISPLAY\n\nEach banner is double sided\, full color 24"x48" and custom designed with a image of the honoree. Upon removal at the end of November\, the banner will be available for pick up and will be eligible to be used in the following year.\n\n\n\nBANNER LOCATION\n\nBanners will be located throughout Downtown Northville during the months of May and November.\n\n\n\nSUBMISSION DEADLINE AND PRICE\n\nThe cost to purchase a banner is $250. At the completion of the program\, at the end of November\, the banner may be picked up at the Chamber office\, or can be rehung each year for $100/annually.\n\nDeadline for the May 2024 installation is April 7\, 2024. \n\n\n\nDONATE\n\nMake a donation to the program to sponsor a veteran selected by the local VFW and/or American Legion. All donations will be used to create banners for heroes or families unable to do so on their own.\n\n\n\nPhoto Submission: \n\nPHOTO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES\n\nPhoto of veteran must be in uniform\, and one individual per banner\, no exceptions\, to be displayed on the banner (all hardcopy photos will be returned).\n\nA 5" x 7" digital photo saved as a JPG or PNG at 600 dots per inch resolution minimum.\n\nEmail photo to the Chamber via olivia@northville.org . If you do not have a digital photo please bring a 5" x 7" or larger portrait-style photo or mail the photo to the Northville Chamber of Commerce and we will digitize the photo and return the photo to you in an appropriate time frame.\n\n\n\nPROOF\n\nA proof of the banner will be emailed to you to confirm the spelling of the name\, branch\, years of service or era of service and rank are all correct. If you do not provide an email address you will not have the opportunity to see a proof and therefore forfeit that opportunity. However\, the Chamber staff will compare banner proof to application to ensure accuracy. Please make sure your application is correct. \n\n\n\nAPPLICATION MUST INCLUDE:\n\n1) Completed form\n\n2) Photograph of veteran or service member in military uniform\n\n3) Include additional biography information for your veteran or service member for both the Biography Booklet (limited to 150 words) and the website (500 words). Feel free to write your information on a separate piece of paper\, or type in an email to olivia@northville.org.
