    Seasonal Groundskeeper Positions:

    The DDA is accepting applications for 2 seasonal maintenance employees for the summer. Position runs from mid-May until the end of August. Potential to continue work through mid-November.

    Compensation: Seasonal Employees $18.00 per hour. There are no fringe benefits with this position.

    Job Description:  General grounds keeping to include Town Square and all areas within the DDA boundaries.  Specifically, the job entails:

    • Putting up the market umbrellas in Town Square
    • Daily check of the umbrellas to make sure they are in proper working condition
    • Arrange all tables/chairs in Town Square.
    • Watering of the 80 flower barrels throughout the downtown
    • Water Town Square planters that are not on the sprinkler system
    • Weeding
    • Pulling dead flowers and dead heading of flowers
    • Minor pruning of dead plant material
    • Weekly cleaning of the Town Square Fountain
    • Daily sweeping debris from Town Square.
    • Mulching in Town Square and other plant beds
    • Sweeping sidewalks, Town Square, TS stairs and Drop-off area at Marquis
    • Minor maintenance and repair work
    • Maintenance of Comerica Community Connection
    • Occasional weekend shifts, Friday/Saturday evenings and Sunday mid-day
    The part time/full time position is 20 - 40 hours per week including some weekends. Successful candidates must be at least 16 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to perform basic maintenance duties. The successful candidate will be required to take and pass a pre-employment physical including drug test and background check.
