Dear Chamber Members:
As the Executive Director of the Northville Chamber of Commerce, I would like to wish all of you and your families a joyous and happy Holiday season. I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead the Northville Chamber of Commerce, and I’m appreciative of our members' support these past two months. I would like to thank Maddy and Olivia for the warm welcome I have received and for their hard work the past six months with the Chamber Board and continuing the important work of the Northville Chamber of Commerce. Together, we have learned with our board of directors and are focused on continuous improvement and growing our chamber through consistent communication, community outreach, and promoting our wonderful business community.
I would also like to congratulate all on a very successful Streets of Treats event in October and the Holiday Lighted Parade and Holiday Greens Market in Northville. Our active collaboration with Chamber members, government leaders, the Department of Public Works, the Northville Central Business Association, and the Northville Downtown Development Authority have helped to make these wonderful community events even better. The new Hometown Holiday Festival was a great collaboration between the Northville DDA and the Northville Chamber of Commerce, and we are appreciative of how well this year’s event went. A very special thanks to all our sponsoring businesses who make events like these successful. Thank you for believing in your Chamber and thank you for believing in the greater Northville community.
As with all NCC sponsored events we will be debriefing in the coming weeks to focus on continuous improvement and growing opportunities for our members and these collaborative events. I would personally like to thank our members, the City and Township of Northville leadership, the DDA, Northville Public Schools, Department of Public Works and our City and Township Fire and Police Departments for helping make our events fun, exciting, and safe for all. Northville is a great place to do business.
Our Military Banner program was a success this year with all veteran banners being displayed for the first two weeks of November in honor of Veterans Day, November 11. Many communities only display their veterans in May – in Northville, we are able to display them in November and May thanks to the support of our chamber members, volunteers, chamber staff, and our Department of Public Works. Special thanks to George Lahanas, City Manager, and Mike Domine, DPW Director, for helping manage this year’s military banner display. A special thanks to Dr. Demray and Rick Cox for their support of this meaningful project. Honoring our veterans and community members is chamber project we can all be proud of. I am the proud father of a Navy aviator and the son of a retired Air Force Major. Honoring our veterans and service personnel is very personal to my family.
As chamber members, you know that we are committed to meaningful collaboration with all community stakeholders and governmental agencies to promote businesses, our community, and to bring memorable events to our membership.
What’s Next? Currently the Chamber staff are developing plans for our Awards Dinner in February 2026, the State of the Community in April, and working on sponsorships for the Northville Concert Series. Additionally, at our November Chamber meeting the Board of Directors directed me to begin working on a strategic planning process. Stay tuned for more!
If you know anyone who may be interested in joining the Northville Chamber of Commerce, sponsoring an event, or both, please encourage them to reach out to me directly at 248-248-7640.
