In 2014, the Award was designated the “John Genitti Citizen of the Year Award”, in honor of resident and businessman John Genitti.

This year's selection will be awarded at the Awards Dinner on February 11th. The Citizen of the Year receives a place of honor in the 2027 Independence Day Parade, the Victorian Heritage Festival Parade, and the Holiday Lighted Parade.
