Melissa L. Hirn, J.D., AAI, ARM
Melissa L. Hirn, J.D., AAI, ARM, is an experienced Michigan attorney, business advisor, and risk management professional who helps organizations navigate the legal and operational issues that arise as they start, operate, and grow.
Melissa is the founder and owner of Hirn Law, PLLC and President and Owner of Sphere HR & Risk Masters, LLC, both based in Novi, Michigan. Her practice focuses on helping business owners and organizational leaders address legal and business issues proactively — from business formation and contracts to employment law, HR compliance, insurance, and risk management. She also serves as ongoing outside counsel to businesses and public-sector organizations that need experienced legal guidance without maintaining specialized in-house counsel.
Melissa earned her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law, where she served as an Assistant Editor of the Dayton Law Review, and graduated magna cum laude from Western Michigan University.
She serves on the Insurance & Indemnity Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan and chairs its Programming Committee. Melissa holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations and has been a contributing co-author to the ICLE Michigan Insurance Law and Practice treatise. She has also published in the Michigan Bar Journal and regularly speaks to business and professional audiences on employment law, business law, insurance, and risk management topics.
