The Northville Art House will present Stories in Stitches, a juried exhibition that showcases the wonders of fiber art through artworks that tell a story. Artists are encouraged to share histories, stories, themes, fantasies and memories in wall, floor, sculptural, and installation work that include fiber and/or utilize traditional fiber art techniques.
The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, May 30, 5 – 8 pm and runs through June 28. Juried by artist Joan Potter Thomas, a presentation at 6 pm will announce awards for the top 4 places and honorable mentions.
Ryan Kaltenbach, Creative Director at the Art House shares, “In this exhibition, artists transform fiber into a medium for storytelling, using techniques such as quilting, weaving, embroidery, felting, and more. The work, we anticipate, will offer a unique window into each artist's perspective, inviting viewers to connect with the universal power of narrative.”
