Following high school, Dave enlisted in the Navy where his service included sea board duty on the USS ALBANY.  Later he served with the Philadelphia Naval Reserve Fleet (5th Naval District) where he captained the Naval basketball team to a championship.  After serving the US Navy, Dave spent the rest of his career with the Northville Public Schools as a teacher, coach and administrator.
