  • Upon graduating from the University of Toledo in 1967, Dave joined the IBM Corporation as a marketing trainee.  Early in 1968 he enlisted in the US Army, training at Fort Dix in New Jersey and Fort Benning in Georgia before departing for Vietnam in January 1970.  He was assigned to the Military Advisory Command Vietnam (MACV), where he spent the year working with the 5th Division of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN).
Dave, along with three other US soldiers, patrolled the rice patties and jungle areas north of what was then Saigon, all the way to the Cambodian border.  In the event of active conflict, Dave's duties were to bring US air and mortar strikes to assist the ARVN.  Upon his return to the United States, Dave rejoined IBM where he completed a 33-year career in marketing management positions, retiring in January 2000.  He and his wife Linda have lived in Northville Township for the last twenty-five years.
