Donald C. Bonner, born January 3, 1928, enlisted in the Army on February 1946, one month after his 18th birthday. He joined the 674th Parachute Field Artillery where he earned his Parachutist badge, specialized as a radio operator and was awarded the M1 Rifle Expert Marksmanship qualification badge. During the occupation of Japan, he earned the WWII Victory Medal and The Army of Occupation Medal Japan.
