Richard “Dick” Kenny was born in Deckerville, Michigan and enlisted in the Army at the age of 19. He joined the military seeking an opportunity to serve his country and see the world.
After attending boot camp in Grayling, Michigan, he completed stenography training which served him well. In his 23 year career, he was stationed in numerous locations including Japan, Kansas, France and Illinois. 

He was successful in his administrative duties serving many Generals along the way. Richard received numerous commendation medals for his meritorious service. Most noteworthy, Richard was awarded the Bronze Star for exceptional service in connection with military operations while serving in Vietnam.

Richard was recognized as a leader in his duties.  He was hardworking, loyal, and dependable.  He retired from the Army in 1974.
