Bill Bennet served as a M60 gunner on an armored personnel carrier in the 196th Infantry Brigade F Troop, American Division, also known as “The Burning Rope.”

He served from 1969-1971 and was a Purple Heart recipient on February 20, 1970. He has been married over 53 years, has two children and three grandchildren. His family honors his service and is very proud of him. He is their hero.
