  • William P. Darish (1915-2015) enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1942.  He served four years with the 854th platoon in the Solomon Islands.  His duties and talents were many from serving in an Anti Aircraft placement to  fashioning a shower in Guam for his division  to use.  In addition, he received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in 1943. Despite all of his accomplishments, he was a humble, gentle man.

Upon his discharge, he married the love of life, Betty Jane.  Together, they raised six children.  Bill cherished his  family and loved his grandchildren. He was active in his church and community.  He volunteered for many organizations and never lost his enthusiasm for life or his sense of humor and generous nature.
