Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Lieutenant Colonel Baker was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through ROTC in August 1997. His most recent and final assignment on active duty was as the Professor of Military Science for the Eastern Michigan ROTC Battalion. Lieutenant Colonel Baker retired from active duty, after 20 years, in August of 2017.

He has been married to his wife, Erin, for 21 years, and they have three children, Madilynn, Katelynn, and Ellynn. LTC.(R) Baker is now the Manager for Learning and Development at Amcor Rigid Plastics in Ann Arbor. The Baker family has made Northville their home since 2014.
